“I find these “between” times the hardest of all!”

Dressing at this time of year can be a challenge for many. What to wear when it feels like we’re in between seasons. I’ve had several clients ask for any tips.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it here again, for me there really is only one solution - layers.

Layers allow you to keep warm enough when needed, but are quick and easy to shed as the sun comes out and you begin to heat up. The same is true for peri and menopausal women. Make layers your absolute best friend.

My go-to pieces are my fail-safe maxi dresses, for a number of reasons. Layering both over and under a maxi ensures you can wear a more summery dress throughout the year. And it’s a more sustainable way of dressing. Throw on a light cardi or a denim jacket to dress it down. A blazer to dress it up. They work with flip flops, sandals, trainers, boots. Just really versatile, practical and stylish.

During cooler months (that’s 11 months of the year in UK for me!), you’ll find me with leggings or tights under my floaty dress and often a base layer. You won’t necessarily be able to see my layers, unless I want you to, but they are usually there.

Ironically I’m sitting in my garden in glorious sunshine as I write this. Layers are not needed. But a customer told me yesterday that snow’s forecast for next week. Whatever the weather I’ll be wearing layers and won’t get caught out. Take my tips onboard and do the same.
